Odds are you are reading this on your phone.  Yay you.

Mobile overtook desktop as the number one way for most people to access websites recently.

People’s hands are glued to their phones.  Fear Of Missing Out (FOMO) is the reason. Of course you really aren’t missing out on anything.  But mobile access pushes that message all day and night.

As a result our attention span is that of a goldfish with online content these days.  Goldfish may even have better concentration.

So website design and marketing is all about capturing attention.  It definitely is not showing how amazing the website designer is or even worse satisfying your inner need to put every fancy thing you ever saw into a website.

People want easy to digest content. It might be a 10,000 word feature piece on plankton biology or a Tik Tok of a mouse back flipping off a kitchen countertop.

Tastes differ.

You may like both?

The best websites appeal to their buyers personas. If you don’t know what a buyer persona is don’t worry it is simply put what your ideal buyer wants from your last 5-10 clients.  If your website isn’t answering or reassuring them on their visit then you should look at focusing on your buyers needs more

Meet your customer needs whether they are plankton lovers or mouse acrobatic fanatics.
